The 1996 vintage of The King, has been titled AD2017, using the symbolic number of 21, linking The King’s suggested optimum maturity with the age commonly associated with final entry into adulthood. Thie King AD has enticing flavours of a deliciously spiced dark Christmas pudding which has just been flamed in brandy. This wine shows great balance and a surprisingly drying finish. This wine must be decanted carefully as a wine of this distinction will show some sediment and some crust. If held in a cool, dark place, this wine will continue to improve in the bottle well after 2017.
