Merlot grown in the Barossa gives rich, soft wines of velvet silkiness and suppleness, superb balance and structure. The traditional characters of this great red wine variety are shown at their best in the Barossa. A beautifully structured wine with superb middle palate softness, showing savoury herbal olive and black currant flavours. The rich depth of fruit is reined in by the beautifully balanced oak and fine-grained tannins. This tautness of structure makes it an excellent food wine.
