Castiglion del Bosco is one of Tuscany's most noteworthy estates and a leading producer of the renowned red wine, Brunello di Montalcino. The 56 hectare estate is situated in the north-western part of Montalcino. Despite the size of the estate (big in Montalcino terms) the wines have an extremely fine, handcrafted feel about them. You coul be mistaken for thinking they were from a boutique winery. The scale of the vineyard holdings means that del Bosco enjoys a variety of distinct terroirs and micro-climates within the one estate. These are extremely fine wines: noble, polished and well presented. This is a lush, tactile wine. Fresh, appealing cherry, berry notes harmonise with cedary, spicy elements. This is a fine wine and its gratifying richness has something comfortably autumnal about it.
